Upward Bound Program helping collect donations - Students from the Upward Bound program are helping our local Newborns in Need Chapter collect: Formula, Infant Clothes, Blankets, Diapers, and Baby Hygiene items. To be donated to our local Castleview Hospital, and families in need in the Carbon and Emery Counties. Upward Bound is a local federally funded program, that helps low income/First Generation Students attend college. If you can donate any of these items it would be greatly appreciated. Drop off locations are at: USU-CEU in the JLSC building room 223, or at Carbon or Emery High Schools Main Offices. For any additional information feel free to contact: Trinity Gibbs-435-613-5319 or Justin Orth 435-613-5436. Items need to be turned in by March 4, 2011.

Jobs Daughters - Bethel 3 of Price Utah of the International Order of Jobs Daughters has resumed meetings for the spring term. St. Patrick's Day Dance - March 18 from 7-9 p.m. at the Carbon County Seniors Activity Center, 450 S. Fairgrounds Way. Music provided by Music of the Heart. Everyone welcome, refreshments will be served. Donation suggested. Contact Annette at 650-0049 for more information.

Lenten Luncheons - will be held at the United Methodist Church, 10 North 200 East, beginning on Ash Wednesday, March 9 and will continue each Wednesday for the next five weeks. Food will be served from noon to 12:30 and an inspirational talk will be given from 12:30 to 12:45. There is no charge for the lunch but a free will offering will be taken and given to a local charity.

Western Mining and Railroad Museum - Located at 296 South Main in Helper, the museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. For information, Castle Valley residents may contact the museum at 472-3009.

Carbon County Triad - meets the first Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the Price public safety dispatch center.Members focus on law enforcement and aging programs to assist the elderly.

Gallery East - Hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Immunization clinic hours - Clinics are scheduled at Southeastern Utah Health District Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. For information, contact the public health department at 637-3671.

Women's cancer screening - Women 50 years of age or older may qualify for free breast and cervical cancer exams and mammograms. Women ages 40 to 49 may qualify for a low-cost exam.For information, call the public health district at 637-3671.

Carbon County Animal Shelter - AVID chip pet identification is available at the shelter. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
