A Jeep Wrangler driven by Rick Madrid of East Carbon comes to rest after wedging a stop sign underneath during Saturday's blizzard. Madrid saw the sign but the car refused to stop on the slick road near the junction of US 6 and SR 123. Right, heavy equipment from Savage Industries rescues one of its coal trucks that had slid off SR 124 on the way from Columbia to East Carbon. Police closed the dugway until plows and salt trucks could clear away the snow and ice that made stopping next to impossible.
