Spring is the time for many of the Carbon high athletes to begin finalizing plans for college and signing letters of intent to their chosen schools. Carbon High senior Darrien Smith, surrounded by Carbon High Head softball coach Tony Pinedo, mother Rochelle Badback, Father Clint Badback and Assistant Softball coach Kirt Nunely, finishes signing her letter of intent to play softball with Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangely, Colo. CNCC is part of the Scenic West Athletic Conference as is CEU, but CEU does not have a women's softball program.
