Prehistoric Museum invites photos for new exhibit
The USU/CEU Prehistoric Museum is calling for photography submissions from professional and amateur photographers for their upcoming gallery exhibition titled Exposures.
This is an opportunity for "lesser known" photographers to showcase their work in a professional gallery setting along with professional photographers. Lloyd Logan, the Museum Gallery Coordinator, stated, "We have such a spectacular area with so many photo opportunities, and such talented people in the area taking fabulous photos, it would be a shame for them not to be shown to the general public."
The museum will be accepting submissions for photographs not previously shown in the museum gallery, from Monday, Jan. 24 through Friday, Jan. 28 between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Submissions are limited to three photos per photographer and must be accompanied by typed labeling bearing the title of the piece, the artist's name and the price or NFS if the piece is not for sale.
The official opening of Exposures is Feb. 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This opening is free and the public is invited to attend.
Light refreshments will be served. Visitors will be able to meet and speak with the photographers.
The show will run from Feb. 3 through April 23 and can be seen during regular museum hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, (closed Sunday) at regular museum admission prices.
The museum commission on gallery sales is 25 percent.
