SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Robert "Bob" Slavensky, 70, died at his home Sept. 1, 2010 after a one and a half year battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 23, 1939 in Price to Frank and Carma Slavensky. He was raised in Helper where he met, and married, Marie Murray from Price in 1959. They left Utah and moved to Sacramento, Calif., where he was accepted into local 447 pipe fitter trades apprentice program. 'Bob' worked in the pipe trades for 40 years. After retirement Bob and Marie did a little 'snowbirding' until they found nine acres in the hills of Oregon and lived there until he died.
He enjoyed customizing his trucks, watching Nascar, traveling, model trains and home improvement projects. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Bob leaves behind his wife Marie, daughter Tina, and sons Rick, Steve and Chris; grandchildren Erik, Tifiny, Meghan, Steven, Trinity, Kayla, Josephine, Parker and Piper, who all miss him very much.

Do you think the Utah Legislature should increase appropriations for public education in Utah beyond the current legislative trend in the past few years of funding only for growth in student population?
