MONTPELIER, Idaho - Mary Jolene Mower Caldwell, 67, was released from her pains and limitations on this earth to return to her Heavenly Father on Dec. 29, 2010.
Jolene was born to her loving parents Joseph A. Mower and Mary Ruth Nielsen, Jan. 19, 1943 in Standardville. Her and her family then moved to Price where she started her education. In her junior year of high school Jolene and her family moved to Madisonville, Ky., where she graduated. Jolene was crowned Miss Hopkins County in 1962 and worked as a host for a T.V. talent show. In 1963 she gave up her opportunity to become Miss Kentucky and returned to Utah to be with the love of her life David LeGrande Caldwell who she married June 22, 1963 in Price. Jolene taught dance and gymnastics in the Bear Lake Valley before becoming a respiratory therapist in Arco, Idaho where her and her family settled for a short time. David and Jolene returned to the Montpelier in 1997 where they have lived since. She was an active member in the LDS Church and was sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple to David.
Jolene was preceded in death by her son Cody, her mother and father, and aunts and uncles.
Jolene is survived by her husband David Caldwell, and children, Natalie (Kevin) Parker, Montpelier, Idaho, David Shane (Katie) Caldwell, Twin Falls, Idaho, and Jared (Liz) Caldwell, Layton. Grandchildren: Charli, Krysta (Travis), Dak, Casey, Lexi, Jaxon, Rylie, and Harley and one great-grandchild Treysen.
Jolene will be most missed for her bubbly personality, loving nature, love of animals, sense of humor, and turkey stuffing and rolls.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at 12:00 noon. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m to 11:45 a.m. prior to services and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday Jan. 2, 2011 at Matthews Mortuary located in Montpelier, Idaho.
