Love for cats drives young girl to help out

Madison Aguayo, 7, found a way to help out feral cats in time for Christmas. For her seventh birthday party, Madison didn't want people to bring gifts for her. Instead she requested that people attending the party to bring cans of cat food which would be donated to the Humane Society to help cats in need.

Her idea, which she came up with a little help from her mother Mae Aguayo, was a hit. People not only donated cans of cat food, they also donated kitty litter, treats, toys and much more. Madison also created a cat out of cardboard which she painted and even put a tail on the back of the box.

Juanita Richard, with the Carbon County Humane Society, said the donated materials would go to help over 40 cats.

The Carbon County Humane Society accepts all kinds of donations. To make a donation, call 637-0588.
