The Lady Dinos returned triumphant from their road trip east to Colorado. They went 3-0 to move their record to an undefeated 5-0 on the season. Carbon destroyed Central in game one on Thursday night by the score of 66-22. They then edged out Grand Junction 47-30 before finishing the sweep with a 67-43 win over Fruita Monument.

Thursday proved to be an easy rout of Central. Carbon held them to one point in the first quarter while piling up 25 of their own. The Dinos continued to roll over Central and made easy work of it.

Tia Pappas racked up 25 points that included five threes, eight rebounds and seven steals. Mariah Pollock contributed 11. Thirteen Dinos took the court and all but two were able to score.

On Friday against Grand Junction High, it was a very defensive game. The Tigers had just come off of beating American Fork High who is ranked third in 5A play. Carbon outscored the Tigers in every quarter. Grand Junction was not prepared for the swarming press of the Lady Dinos and struggled to score.

Miranda Averett and Sara Potts led the scoring for Carbon with 11 each and each had five steals. Potts also pulled in four rebounds and an assist. Kylee Lessar was hot off the boards with seven and she contributed 10 points to the scoring effort.

On Saturday, Carbon cruised to another win. This game made them work a little as Fruita had a great second quarter effort to pull within two after outscoring the Dinos 21-13. The game stayed close through the third period when the Lady Dinos exploded for a 26-6 run in the fourth to put the game away.

Pappas had another remarkable game with 26 points, 11 steals and five rebounds. Miranda Averett continued to be an offensive force with 14 points. Pollock also added 11, while Potts led the defense with six boards.

The team will take the home floor again on Tuesday with a game at 7 p.m. against Lehi before heading down to Richfield for the tournament dubbed the State Preview this weekend.
