Ordinance No. 148
AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PARKING OF AUTOMOBILES, TRAILERS,
INOPERATIVE VEHICLES, BOATS OR OTHER MOTOR VEHICLES ON PUBLIC STRESS
AND THOROUGHFARES WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF CARBON COUNTY, UTAH,
REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR
THE VIOLATION THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Commission of Carbon County, State of
SECTION I. It shall be unlawful for any person to park any
automobiles, trailers, inoperative vehicles, machinery, boats, or
other motor vehicles or to knowingly allow any such automobiles,
trailers, inoperative vehicles, machinery or boats or other motor
vehicles owned by such person or under the control of such person to
remain parked on any street, highway, alley, or public thoroughfare
within the corporate limits of Carbon County between the hours of 1:00
o'clock A.M. and 7:00 o'clock A.M. of any day between 12:00 o'clock
P.M. of November 15 and 12:00 o'clock P.M. of March 15 of any year
after the effective date of this Ordinance.
SECTION II. It shall be unlawful for any person to park any trailers,
inoperative or abandoned vehicles, machinery, or boats or to knowingly
allow any such trailers, inoperative or abandoned vehicles, machinery,
or boats owned by such person or under the control of such person to
remain parked on any street, highway, alley or public throughfare
within the corporate limits of Carbon County between the hours of
11:00 o'clock P.M. and 7:00 A.M. of any day.
SECTION III. That all Ordinances, Resolutions and Orders of Carbon
County, Utah, or parts thereof, in conflict with the provisions of
this Ordinance, are, to the extend of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION IV. That in the opinion of the Commissioners, it is necessary
for the immediate peace, health, welfare and safety of the inhabitants
of Carbon County, Utah, for this Ordinance to take effect after its
adoption, approval and publication.
SECTION V. EFFECTIVE DATE. That this Ordinance shall become effective
on the date of its publication, after passage, approval and adoption.
SECTION VI. PENALTY. Any person violating, causing or permitting the
violation of any such provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of
a misdemeanor and shall be punished for such violation as such offense
is defined in the Ordinance of Carbon County.
PASSED by the County Commission of Carbon County, Utah on this 8th
day of October A.D., 1980.
