Senior Center has new usage rules

The Carbon Senior Citizens Center outlined its policies for private group use in a presentation to the County Commission last Wednesday.

Director Debbie Kobe said private groups wishing to use center facilities must be senior citizens and must pay rent unless they can certify they are 501(c)3 non-profits.

All groups, including the non-profits, will have to pay rent to cover overhead expenses if they want to use equipment, classrooms or the theater for presentations.

Use of the dining hall and kitchen will require commission approval.

The center will not allow weddings or receptions.
