KENILWORTH/FRUITA, Colo - Valden O. Jensen, age 79, died on Nov. 12, 2010 in Grand Junction, Colo. He was surrounded by all of his family as he passed.
Val was born on March 8, 1931 in Kenilworth to George and Rae Jensen. He graduated from Carbon High School in Price in 1949. He married Edna LaMarca Smith on Dec. 5, 1958 in Kenilworth. They were sealed later at the Provo Temple for time and all eternity. They moved to Glenwood Springs and then Carbondale, Colo., and had four sons. He worked at Mid-Continent Mine from 1958 to 1980 as a Master Mechanic.
Val loved to fish, hunt and camp. He loved spending time with his family and telling stories about his life. Val was very active in the LDS church and served as a missionary and worked in the Temple.
Val is survived by his wife Edna LaMarca Jensen and his sons, Mark (Vickie), Neil (Donna), Eric (Callie), Bill Jensen. His grandchildren Jared Jensen, Jessica Gonzalez (Diego), Valden Lee Jensen and Shawn Jensen. He was going to be a great grandpa in January.
Services will be at the Redlands LDS Church located at 2235 Kingston Rd. Grand Junction, Colo. Viewing is at 9:00 a.m. and services will follow at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Services will take place at Cliff View Cemetery in Price at 4:00 p.m.
