The Castle Valley Community Theatre proudly presents everyone's favorite musical: Fiddler on the Roof at the Mont Harmon Junior High theatre this week.

Performances will run Nov. 18-19 and 22. The curtain goes up at 7 pm and tickets can be purchased at the door for only $7, a bargain for such a full evening of entertainment. The performance has songs you know and love and they are brought to you by the Castle Valley Communiy Theater-a cast made up of your friends and neighbors-in one of the best pieces of musical theatre ever written.

The storyline is well known. Tevye, a Jewish milkman (Mike Hughes) and his wife, Golde, (Diane Carlson) struggle to raise their five daughters in turn-of- the-century Russia (1900). Family traditions are under assault by radical new thinking as the world begins to spin out of control on its way to world war. With a cast and crew of over 60 people, there is no way we could list everyone involved in this show, so we encourage you to come out to the show to see which of your neighbors is on stage .

The tightrope of parenting your children to lifelong happiness steeped in the tradition of family and community amongst the upheaval brought on by the outside world is a universal theme explored in this wonderfully heartwarming story,

CVCT has its own tradition of excellence after more than 50 years of bringing local talent to local audiences. It has a tradition of excellent family theatre experiences. Good theatre should entertain, make you think and hopefully give you something to talk about with your friends and family.

One of the goals of CVCT is to bring quality live theatre experiences to as many people in the Castle valley area as possible. Pulling the cast together to work on Fiddler has been a truly community building work of love. One of the reasons our casts are so large is to accommodate all those who want to try their hand at acting, set building, painting, light or costume design . We are always eager to expand our circle of "players" and encourage anyone interested to contact any of the board members listed in the show program.
