WELLINGTON - Alberta Christensen, age 97 passed away at her home in Wellington on Nov. 10, 2010. She was born Nov. 9, 1913 to Albert Edward and Martha Maria Beck Puzey in Spring City. Alberta married Grant Bertess Christensen on Aug. 2, 1933 in Manti. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple in June 1935. Grant passed away on Oct. 16, 1998.

Alberta was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings throughout her life. She was a wonderful cook and loved reading. Her family was her life and she lived her life to serve them. Alberta loved spending time with her family, be it special occasions or just visiting with each other, yet she especially loved all of her grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Alberta is survived by her children: Helen (Don) Allred of Kearns, Elden (Kathryn) Christensen of Taylorsville, Janice (Jerry-deceased) Powers of Stansbury Park, Ned (Jolene) Christensen of Eugene, Ore., and Joyce (Kenneth) Powell of Price. 23 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren, brothers: Willard (Bessey) Puzey of Richfield, and Nad (Gwen) Puzey of Spring City, sister-in-law: Mildred Puzey of Mesquite, Nev., She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, five sisters, two brothers and one son-in-law.

Funeral Services will be Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at 11 a.m., at the Wellington 1st and 4th Ward building (50 N. 100 E.). A viewing will be held on Sunday, Nov. 14 from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price (680 E. 100 S.) and on Monday at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Interment will follow at the Wellington City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guestbook and share memories of Alberta at www.fausettmortuary.com.
