HUNTINGTON - Ellen Amber Barney Nielsen, age 84 passed away on Oct. 8, 2010 at her home in Huntington. She was born July 4, 1926 to Virgil Delbert Barney and Crystal Ember Thompson in Nine Mile. She married Ted C. Nielsen on April 23, 1946 in Price.
Ellen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved gardening, canning, sewing, quilting and farming, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and playing with her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She is survived by her children: Laura Nielsen of Duchesne, Ted Roger (Lori) Nielsen of Price, Allen (Kelli) Nielsen of Huntington, Debbie (Randy) Curtis of Wellington, Carry (Bridget) Nielsen of Huntington; and Becky (Richard) Curtis of Helper; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers: Allen (Carolyn) Barney of Ogden, William Barney of Helper, John (Jenny) Barney of Helper; and one sister, Sally Stover of Seattle, Wash.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons: Michael Nielsen and William Nielsen; grandsons: Louis Keller and A.J. Nielsen; granddaughter, Jennifer Amber Tweddell; and brothers: Gale and Edwin Barney.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary Chapel (680 E. 100 S. - Price). A viewing will be held Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary (680 E. 100 S. - Price) and on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Price City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may share memories of Ellen and sign the guest book at www.fausettmortuary.com.
