Commission approves promotional funding
The Carbon County Commission has approved the appropriation of about $46,600 for tourism promotion. The money will come from revenues generated by the restaurant tax and the projects were recommended by the Restaurant Tax Advisory Board.
Funds will go for:
Purchase of Hidden Treasures brochure on travel opportunities, $4,999;
Castle Country Magazine, $23,000;
Castle Country DVD featuring scenic opportunities, lodging and restaurants, $12,650;
Castle Gate Posse, $6,000.
During a presentation by Tourism Office Direct Kathy Hanna-Smith, commissioners heard that the new Tie Fork rest stop in Spanish Fork Canyon has become a prime place for distributing printed materials promoting travel and tourism in the county.
