EVANSTON, Wyo - Alma Lee Fiack, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, Sept. 5, 2010.
Born Sept. 9, 1930 in Pearisburg, Va., to John Fidele Bergamo and Mary Agnes Kastelic, she married Daniel Chavez Jr. on Jan. 25, 1950 in Spring Canyon. They later divorced. She then married LeRoy Henry Fiack on May 6, 1963 in Price.
Alma worked at the Evanston Regional Hospital where she was employed until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family, ensuring that everyone was always well-fed with her delicious home cooking. She was a rock in the family; always there as the light when some struggled in the dark.
Alma is survived by her husband of 47 years, LeRoy Henry Fiack, of Evanston, Wyo., five children: Brenda (Susan) Bateman of Evanston, Wyo; Daniel (Karen) Chavez of Sheridan, Wyo; Brandon Chavez of Denver, Colo; Robert (Marge) Fiack of Pompano Beach, Fla., Allen Fiack of Evanston, Wyo.
Grandchildren Bonnie Contreres, Brandon Chavez, Kirby Wilson, Kayleen Chavez, Robert Fiack, Brandon Fiack, Courtney, Tiffany Olson, Shae Kingsley, Ashten Fiack, Brooke Fiack, and Laina Bleu Chavez. Also survived by her step-sister, Clara Luther-Moreley, step-brother Paul Luther Jr. Other family members include Daniel Chavez, Jr., Patricia Kingsley, and Kathleen Horne.
Preceded in death by her parents, step-father Paul Luther, brothers John Bergamo, George Bergamo, Charles "Bill" Bergamo, Harvey Bergamo, Edward "Leon" Bergamo, Carl "Jack" Bergamo.
The family expresses thanks to Promise Hospital and the University of Utah.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the LDS 2nd & 5th Ward, at Oak and Elm streets with a viewing one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Lord's Storehouse or the Humane Society would be very appreciated.
