Run for cancer research team

Imagine running through four national forests, along the historic Oregon Trail, through beautiful Star Valley, beside the Snake River finishing at the foot of the Teton Mountains. That is exactly what a group of local runners did this past week to help raise money for cancer research. The race is the Cache-Teton Relay put on by Epic Relays. It begins in Logan and continues up through Idaho and ends in Jackson Hole, Wyo. The team consists of twelve runners in two vans that would take turns running this scenic route. Each runner ran three different times throughout the course totaling 12 to 20 miles. Each challenging leg could consist of anything from a steep uphill climb to rocky trails to knee-jamming descents. The 191 mile journey was a non-stop adrenaline filled adventure that took just over 31 hours. With the support of some awesome volunteers - Justin Johnson, Logan Dye, Dennis Nelson and Courtney Peterson - they survived. Pictured are in the top row - Chad Curley, Ken Oteker, Raechel Nelson, Blake Dye, Clint Dye, Kelly Orchard, Corbin Black, Mallory Dye. In the bottom row are Courtney Curley, Candice Carter, Valeena Dye and Ariel Dye.
