Evans is Price Jazz ambassador
Utah Jazz rookie Jeremy Evans came to town to meet with local kids at the BDAC on Wednesday.
Evans was 55th pick in 2010 NBA Draft and took the time to talk with the group about the importance of hard work, staying in school and sportsmanship.
He then helped the kids do some drills and went one-on-one with those lucky few that answered some questions about him and the Jazz.
Before he left he took the time to sign autographs and pose for pictures with anyone who wanted one.
The Jazz had two picks in the draft in June and with the first pick they took Gordon Hayward of Butler and then Evans in the second round.
Evans played college ball at Western Kentucky, stands 6'9" and weighs 196 lbs. He is from Crossett, Ark.
Evans closed out his college career as WKU's all-time field goal percentage leader at 63.9 percent. Evans was also renown around the country as a superb shot blocker and a defensive presence in the paint with 224 career blocked shots.
This past season, he averaged 10.0 ppg and 6.9 rpg while connecting on 137-of-211 field goal attempts for a Sun Belt Conference best 64.9 percent.
