PRICE - Our loving father, grandfather, and friend, John "Jack" Martin Leamaster, age 86, passed away peacefully Aug. 8, 2010 in Price.

He was born June 17, 1924 in Hiawatha to Martin B. and Beatrice Simmons Leamaster.

He married Shirley A. Kirby, Dec. 25, 1947 in Huntington; she died May 19, 1984.

Jack was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He attended elementary school in Huntington and graduated from North Emery High School. Jack honorably served his country during WWII serving in the US Navy. He was a member of the Huntington American Legion Post # 73 where he was a past commander.

Jack served as the Emery County Sheriff for 16 years. He also served as the past president of the Utah Peace Officers Association and past vice president of the Utah Sheriffs Association. After serving as sheriff, Jack worked as the security director at Castle Gate Coal.
