The sizzle of steaks cooking on the grill, a warm and sunny day and plenty of people with empty stomachs waiting for a delicious lunch. All of these elements came together as Far West Bank held it's annual customer appreciation day street barbeque on August 6.

The 17th annual barbeque held on 100 W was a way for Far West to take some time to say thank you to the local community by providing a nice lunch, said Dan Hunter, senior vice president and regional manager of Far West Bank.

"We have this barbeque to say thanks to the entire community and the tremoundous amount of support we receive from them," Hunter said. "Carbon County is the greatest place in the world to run a business and the barbeque brings out friends, customers and neighbors from the community."

Employees from Far West Bank served up steak, corn, potato salad, fruit, rolls and water to everyone who stopped by. A large tent was set up on the street to provide a shaded area for people to enjoy their meals and mingle with family and friends.

The annual barbeque is a way of not only showing appreciation for the support received from the community, but to show that Far West understands that some people are in a tough spot with the economy and the job market, Hunter said.

"We want to be with our clients during the good and bad times, and they've seen both," Hunter said.
