A rollover accident near the Ford Falls area slowed traffic on US-6 on Friday afternoon.

Around 4:20 p.m. a 17-year-old male, who was not identified, was driving in a 1995 Honda Civic eastbound on US-6 near milepost 224 when he started to go off the right side of the road. The driver over-corrected after hitting the rumble strips and swerved back into the eastbound lane but when trying to avoid driving into oncoming traffic he went off the right side of the road and rolled the car, according to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Greg Funk.

The roads were wet and the speed may have been too fast for the conditions, Funk said.

The driver and a 17-year-old passenger received medical attention at the scene but did not request medical transport, Funk said.

The driver was cited for failing to operate a vehicle within one lane, according to Funk.

The Highway Patrol shut down traffic in the eastbound lane for over 30 minutes to help clean up the scene.
