Recycling

Editor:
I am in favor of the current emphasis on recycling because Carbon County will not need to spend $20-30 million on a new dump.
I also agree we should reuse, not throw away.
While I applaud the effort of the "Green Team" it should be pointed out that newspaper recycling has been occurring for 20 years or more. Both the Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune have been sending two tons or more of old newspapers back to Salt Lake every month.
There has been a conversation about putting a "recycling fee" on the utility bills. This would be an unnecessary tax. Please do not tax the people when a private company is doing the job.
(Editors note: Like the Salt Lake Tribune and the Deseret News, the Sun Advocate has been sending extra newspapers to recycling for years too).
