Georgina Nowak (standing, left) and Ruby Hall (standing, center) gather with friends at Cliffview Cemetery beside the monument of Cynthia Owen, a teenager who was killed in a car accident while texting. Ms. Hall, known to many people as RJ the Clown, is Cynthia's mother. Ms. Nowak of the Southeastern Utah Health District is working with Ms. Hall to prevent drivers from driving while texting or talking on cell phones. The campaign is called "Buckle Up, Hang Up, and Drive." Each friend at the memorial service got a package of campaign bookmarks and they will distribute them to publicize the dangers of distractions while driving.
