Golf tourney draws an army of support

A squadron of golfers lines up for an assault on the Carbon County Golf Course before the start of the Ballard Benefit Golf Tournament. The event, held to raise support funds for accident victim Mike Ballard, was deemed a success. Course manager Tom King also told the Recreation and Transportation Special Service District that the heavy turnout boosted the attendance levels for June at the links. Yet to come is the annual Black Diamond tournament, which King said will be a capacity draw. About 170 amateurs and 40 pro golfers have signed up. So as impressive of the fleet of carts is in these photos, the course may have to send out for more to handle the event.
