SUNNYSIDE/WEST VALLEY - Husband, Father, Brother and Friend, passed away on June 27, due to complications related to kidney failure.
Joel was born and raised in Sunnyside on May 1, 1937.
He graduated from Carbon High School, attended Carbon College before enlisting in the US Army. Joel was an avid sports fan who played football, baseball, basketball and softball throughout his young and adult life. He loved his "Utes" and the New York Yankees. He also coached Little League football for Granger for 16 years.
Retired from Rubber Engineering after 42 years.
Preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ida Fratto, brother Sam (Jr.), Granddaughter Bridgette, brother-in-law Ernie Etzel.
Survived by wife Marilyn of 48 years, son, Allen (Mary), daughter, Carol Donaldson Cantonwine (Carl), son, John Moore (Kay), 13 grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren, sister, Delores Etzel, brothers, Gary (Denise), Bob (Marie).
Friends and family may call from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 6 at Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 South 2200 West, Riverton. A vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 7 at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call one hour prior at St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church, 4914 South 2200 West, Kearns.
