King honored during college open house
Mike King, interim president of the College of Eastern Utah for the last two years, speaks with Dale and Ann Evans during an open house held in his honor at the Leavitt Student Center on Tuesday afternoon. King who will be leaving his post as the school merges with Utah State University and the school gets a chancellor (Joe Peterson), will be taking a sabatical leave for the next year. When he returns he will resume his teaching duties at the school, activities which he describes as being "very different" from what he has been doing since taking the interim presidents post. King has guided the school through one of its most important periods since the founding of the college in 1937, one in which it found needed change in the form of joining with a major Utah university to survive the hard economic times and changes in education at almost every turn.
