SALT LAKE/MOAB - Arnold passed peacefully, at age 82, Saturday, May 29, 2010 with his beloved wife by his side. Arnold was born to Lenard Allen Grundvig and Geneve (Jennie) Arnold in Price.
Arnold was a practical genius, a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa (papa), great grandpa and "unc." He joined the Navy at age 17, returning home to marry his sweetheart, Lorraine Dowd. He is survived by his wife of 63 years; son Arnold Jr (Barbara); daughter Paula Merz (Errol Pulsipher); his grandchildren, Lorrie Pappas, Brigitte Hatt (Richard), Jeremy Grundvig (Bridgette), Nicholas Grundvig (Juelee); great -grandchildren; Kellen, Chandler and Athena Pappas, Sabrina Hatt, Mikayla Grundvig, Abigail Grundvig; a great-grandson on the way; four younger sisters; Barbara Chambers, Bessie Hanson, Joann Bettino, Veloy Wilder; and many nieces and nephews.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws; his first-born son, Gary Butch; his stillborn daughter, Carla Lorraine; his grandson Lyle Zeke Francis; his oldest sister, Lena Waterman; and older baby brother, Billy.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 1 at the Kimball Ward, 2280 S. 300 E. in Salt Lake City. Graveside service followed at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Spanish Valley Drive, Moab.
