Anglers surround the Gigliotti Pond in Helper Wednesday morning to try their luck on Free Fishing Day. It was for special needs children and adults. The event also attracted a lot of sponsors: Manti-La Sal National Forest, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, Arch Western Bituminous Group, Active Re-Entry, Carbon County Bass Masters, Emery County Recreation, Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife, National Wild Turkey Federation, Waste and Water Logistics, Helper City, Castle Valley Center and Four Corners Behavioral Health. Sponsors helped bait hooks and cast, and also treated visitors to lunch. Activities continue Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with Kids Day at the pond.
