Jessie Mae Mathie Swarin
BLACKFOOT, Idaho - Jessie Mae Mathie Swarin, 91, of Blackfoot, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010 at Renaissance Assisted Living, in Blackfoot.
She was born March 14, 1919 in Huntington, the daughter of Robert and Mae Luella Young Mathie.
She graduated from schools in Huntington and later attended a beauty school in Beatrice, Neb.
In 1938, she married Reginald Graff. After 10 years of marriage, they were divorced. In 1954 she married Paul Swarin in Blackfoot. He preceded her in death.
Jessie lived in Blackfoot for 62 years and owned and operated Jessie's Beauty Salon in Blackfoot for 25 years. She was active with the Sweet Adelines and Does.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed singing, dancing, gardening and growing flowers and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, Lew (Venice) Graff of Blackfoot; four grandchildren, Kevin, Cherylyn, Dale and Dan; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, parents, brothers, Llewellyn, LaMont, Bill, Matt, sister, Maxine and grandson, David.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot.
The family will meet with friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery.
