Price has slipped a bit in its ranking as a sportsman's paradise, but the editors of Outdoor Life magazine still rank the town as one of America's top 200 towns for outdoorsmen. For 2010, Price ranks 195th, tied with Junction City, Ks. and Grants Pass, Ore. Its 2009 rank was 152.

Other Utah cities making the list were Kanab (5), Richfield (39), Vernal (51), Logan (52), Heber City (54), and Cedar City (56).

The magazine considers a variety of factors in making its ratings. Basically, the choices boil down to choosing towns that are close to fishing and hunting opportunities, offer a chance to find a good-paying job and affordable housing, and have basic community amenities. All Utah cities listed also rank nine on a scale of 10 in terms of gun laws.
