Every year the UMW (United Methodist Women) sponsor the Lenten Lunches during the 6 weeks of Lent. It is held at the Methodist church fellowship hall every Wednesday at 12 p.m. for a lunch of soup and bread. This luncheon was started as an ecumenical way to share lunch and celebrate our diversity while discovering our common Christian heritage. There were Five churches that participated this year, Ascension St Matthew-Pastor James H. Drury (Episcopal/Lutheran), Liberty Faith-Pastor Steve Jones (Four Square Pentecostal), New Life Ministry-Pastor Andrew Lasslo (Independent Pentecostal), Price Chapel-Pastor Dan Samuelson (Christian Missionary Alliance), Price Community United Methodist Church-Pastor Lester Huseby (United Methodist), and St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church-Father Ed Metzger. This group of churches are known as the Ministerial Alliance. The free will offering that each luncheon generates is then given to a community action group, this year it was decided that the funds be given to the Children's Justice Center.
