A diesel fuel tank truck overturned Wednesday afternoon south of Scofield Reservoir, injuring the driver and restricting traffic on SR 96. The driver, whose name was withheld pending notification of next-of-kin, was rushed to Castleview Hospital by ambulance. The truck is owned by Pierce Oil Co. of Price. Highway Patrol troopers are investigating. However, tire ruts indicate that the truck left the road and entered soft gravel off the narrow highway about 100 yards from where it stopped. The tank did not rupture, but some diesel oil from the cab spilled on the highway and was later cleaned off.
