Rachel Paletta Zanni died peacefully in her sleep after a day surrounded by the love of family and devoted staff at Northern California Regional, on May 8, 2010. She'll be greatly missed but we take comfort knowing she's with Lawrence, her husband of 32 years, and family and friends preceding her death. Rachel anticipated the day she'd be able to walk' again.
Born March 6, 1925 in Utah to Mike and Mary Paletta. After graduating high school she moved to McCloud, Calif. where she met Lawrence her husband. She resided there until 1996. She then moved to Redding, Calif. in 1997.
Survived by sons she loved very much; Bruce Zanni, Stuart Zanni, and Rod Zanni; grandchildren, Jeanette, Mike, Casey, Nicole, Luke, Robyn, Adam, Kyle and Zachary; sister, Katie Paletta (Pete) Flemetis, San Leandro Calif.; brother, James Paletta Helper.
Known for making pancakes at all hours or cooking her delicious Gnocchi's always made one feel better
Viewing was May 13, 2010 at Sacred Heart in Anderson, Calif. followed by a Catholic funeral on Friday, May 14.
