The Flower vine grows and grows

The number of flowers that have come into the Sun Advocate office for the No Grave Unadorned project has zoomed up in the last few days.

But we still need everyone's help to make the project a success.

Buckets are still stacked at the Sun Advocate office just waiting to be filled with flowers made by the community. Now too, we also need more commitments by individuals and groups to put flowers on graves starting this Saturday (May 22) and heading through Memorial Day.

To keep track of the numbers of flowers made and brought in, each issue of the Sun Advocate has a Flower Vine printed in the far right column of the front page showing how many flowers have come in. It is estimated that 20,000 flowers will be needed to place one on every previously undecorated grave.

We need to have the majority of the flowers made turned in by the end of this week, so we can plan for placement.

Anyone wishing to donate their time to make flowers or to place them on graves the week of May 22-31 are urged to contact Shayla Winder at 637-0732 as soon as possible.
