Sun Advocate reporter

A Helper resident lost power to her home around seven Tuesday morning. Thinking the incident was part of a blanket outage nothing was reported according to Detective Stephen Boyer with the Helper Police Department.

Later that afternoon (2:34 p.m.) Helper City employee Gary Harwood noticed a grass fire and called it into the fire department, of which he is also a member.

Boyer responded to the call and reported that no flames were present when he arrived on scene.

The downed power line close in proximity to the fire was blamed for the ignition of the fire.
