A Resolution Adopting The Carbon County

NATURAL RESOURCE USE AND MANAGEMENT PLAN AS AN ADDENDUM AND
MODIFICATION 
TO THE CARBON COUNTY MASTER PLAN

	WHEREAS, Carbon County, Utah adopted a Master Plan on October 1,
1997; and

	WHEREAS, Carbon County believes that by identifying, inventorying,
and locating the abundant natural resources within Carbon County, and
by providing a formulating a formal policy and plan for their
development, use, and management, Carbon County will 

	a)	enhance the usefulness of its Master Plan; and

	b)	will encourage protection and responsible development of Carbon
County's natural resources, consistent with multiple use and ; and

	c)	will promote the consideration and recognition of rights of
private property holders; and

	d)	will promote the long-term economic vitality of Carbon County; and


	WHEREAS, Carbon County staff and its citizen volunteers, along with
federal and state agencies have devoted considerable time and
resources to developing this Natural Resource Use and Management Plan;
and

	WHEREAS, the Carbon County Board of Commissioners finds that the
Natural
Resource Use and Management Plan promotes the welfare of its citizens
by: 

	a)	encouraging coordination between federal agencies and local
governments, public land managers, and private landowners; 

	b)	promoting management methods of natural resources that derive
maximum public and private benefit from resources by emphasizing
multiple use and sustained yields;

	c)	supporting responsible development and the long term health of the
land, while recognizing the beneficial role of agriculture and
livestock grazing; 

	d)	seeking to improve or maintain the present condition of all
renewable resources and lands; and

	WHEREAS, Carbon County has given all notice required and held all
hearings required by U.C.A. 17-27a-404, including all public hearings
required thereby;

	NOW THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CARBON COUNTY COMMISSION
AS FOLLOWS:

	Pursuant to Utah Code Annotated 17-27a-401 et seq., the Board of
Commissioners of Carbon County, Utah, hereby adopts the Carbon County
Natural Resource Use and Management Plan, as an addendum and
modification of the Carbon County Master Plan.  The Board of
Commissioners reserves the right to amend this General Plan, and to
incorporate by reference maps, plats, and overlays. 

ADOPTED by the Board of County Commissioners of Carbon County this
21st day of April, 2010.
