If it's spring, we can and should go green

Price City and the Green Team are excited to announce they have two recycling trailers for paper and aluminum. The trailers are located at Sutherlands parking lots and at Market Express by the Taco Bell.

The only aluminum accepted at the trailers are pop and beer cans. Besides aluminum cans, the paper items accepted for recycling trailer include: newspapers, catalogs, magazines, computer paper, phone books, old mail and ads you get from the post office and paperback books.

Items not accepted for recycling trailer include: cardboard - corrugated, cereal boxes, tissue boxes and shredded paper. Plastic, glass, tin (cans), household garbage, electronics and hazardous waste are also on the exclusion list for the trailers.

Many other things can also be recycled in our community.

For other items you might be interested in recycling, here are the locations you can drop them off:

*Fresh Market-plastic shopping bags drop-off box at the entrance

*Bruin Point Elementary- cell phones and aluminum

*Carbon County Landfill- car batteries, metal and tires.

*Castle Heights Elementary cell phones, plastic shopping bags (drop-off box inside the front doors).

*Castle Valley Center-plastic shopping bags (bring bags to the office).

*CEU- pop tabs & aluminum cans call Kathy Murray 613-5284.

*Checker Auto Parts- used oil.

*Creekview Elementary-plastic shopping bags, paper call (637-0828) to make arrangements. Also used ink cartridges at the school office.

*DNB Sinclair (East Carbon)- used oil

*Howa's - aluminum cans -check in at the office.

*J.C. Penney & Co.- plastic shopping bags (bin near the downstairs register).

*Price City utility office- cell phones & ink cartridges

*Price City Library- ink cartridges and all types of paper- no shredded and corrugated cardboard.

*Price City Police Dept.- unused prescription medications and sharps- 910 N 700 E. (drop-off in lobby).

*Price Metal -all types of metal bring- 510 E 1250 S, Price.

*R & J Recycling- aluminum cans and all types of paper-no shredded or corrugated cardboard.

*Rick and Julie Roberts will pick up call 637-5826.

*The UPS Store- packaging peanuts (styrofoam or starch) bring in a bag to the store.

*Tire King - bring used oil to Tire King.

*Ultra Lube- used oil.

*Walmart- plastic shopping bags, aluminum cans & plastic drinking bottles drop-off box at entrances. Also used ink cartridges drop-off box in ink section, used oil bring to automotive department.

*Wellington Elementary used ink cartridges and pop tabs bring to the school office.

*Women's Shelter - usable cell phones with battery & charger.

*Also there is a site called Cell Phones for Soldiers- phone(s) with or without battery www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com.
