Piano group lauds students

The Emery/Carbon Piano Teachers Association held its annual piano festival at CEU on March 13. There were 81 students who participated. Each student is adjudicated in five areas: performance, technique, sight reading, theory, and listening.

The morning session outstanding performances were as follows: First to third grade division - the winner was Moriah Dickman, with Brynne Urie and Ashlin Baker as runners-up. Fourth to sixth grade division - the winner was Courteny Lindsay, with Vivian Baker and McKenna Terry as runners-up. Honorable mentions also went to Brinler Tanner and Nathan Urie. Seventh and eighth grade division - the winner was Drexler Tanner with Quinn Dickman and Banner Fauver as runners-up. Ninth to 12th grade division - the winner was Logan Tuttle with Markette Tanner and Rachel Goodrich as runners-up.

The morning technique awards went to Taylor Butler and Quinn Dickman, Stetler Tanner. Honorable mentions went to Evan Swenson, Nathan Urie, Drexler Tanner and Brinler Tanner.

The afternoon session outstanding performances were as follows: First to third grade division - the winner was Brooklyn Potter with Regan Hanson and Bryce Judd as runners-up. Honorable mention went to Emily Powell. Fourth to sixth grade division - the winner was T.J. Lacock with Zachery Fauver and Carlie Robinson as runners-up. Honorable mentions were Kenneth Chiara, Laci Hulse, Tyler Lacock, and Sarah Swasey. Seventh and eighth grade division - the winner was Tina Lacock with Giovanna Chiara and Kelsie Cox as runners-up. Ninth to 12th grade division - the winner was Elise Vogel with Kayla Petersen and Jake Carpenter as runners-up.

The afternoon technique winners were Tia Hulse, Justan Potter, and Jake Carpenter. Honorable mentions went to Abbie Huntington, Giovanna Chiara, and Tyler Lacock.
