Tuesday's home game against Wasatch started with the Dinos bats doing all the talking, but ended with Wasatch making the final statement. Carbon lost the game, 8-6, after a sixth inning comeback by the Wasps.

After holding Wasatch scoreless in the first frame, the Lady Dinos had three runs on the board before they could even blink. Every batter for the Dinos swung the bat hard and made contact. They added another in the second.

It was the top of the fourth when Wasatch went deep to cut the lead in half. But the Dinos answered with a pair of their own including a long drive over the center field fence by Megan Tubbs to push their cushion back to four.

In the fifth frame Wasatch was able to score one more, but it was sixth when the momentum really shifted. The Wasps sent five over the plate and it took the wind out of the Lady Dinos, from which they never recovered.

It was an offensive show as Wasatch pounded out 15 hits and the Lady Dinos had 12. Kenzie Cave was pitcher of record in the loss. She also had a double to go with Tubbs homer for Carbon.

When asked how he felt his team had performed, Coach Tony Pinedo had very little to say, " We lost! You can't break out the game by the good innings and the bad.

"You have to play seven innings and then you check at the end of the game to see if you won. I give Wasatch credit, they came back and beat us."

Carbon now has to face Union on Friday in Roosevelt. This game will be a real test of the team. Union is ranked second in the state for 3A. Pinedo ultimately wants the win, but he will be satisfied if his team shows up and plays competitively.
