An ATV accident early Monday morning has left one Carbon County child dead, according to the Emery County Sheriff's Office.

Two 11-year-old cousins, who were not identified, were riding an ATV in the Mounds area southeast of Wellington when their vehicle rolled over, pinning the driver beneath it. The passenger tried to move the ATV but was unable to do so. He ran back to a camp where their parents and grandparents were staying to get help and brought them to the scene. The family tried CPR on the driver and transported him to a location where an ambulance was waiting to pick him up.

The boy was taken to Castleview Hospital in Price where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to Emery County Sheriff Lamar Guymon.
