It took just four innings on Monday for the Lady Dinos to post their first region win of the year. The team's first region game was at home against ALA and Carbon made the most of the home field advantage. They dispersed the Eagles in four with a 19-2 drubbing.

Carbon showed their dominance at the plate in the first inning as they batted around the line-up and put up six runs. Tacking on another in the second, Carbon was cruising for the win. A walk and a couple of hits for ALA in the third gave them their only scoring of the game.

The Lady Dinos parlayed some good hits and timely walks into a 10 run fourth to invoke the 15 run mercy rule and end it.

Kensey Cave (5-2) posted her fifth win of the season on the mound. She also went three for three at the plate to help her own cause. Darrian Smith was also three for three with a triple. Megan Tubbs blasted a double in the high scoring affair.

It was all smiles for the team and head coach Tony Pinedo after the game. He was really happy with the effort he got out of his girls. He remarked that ALA wasn't a strong team, but his team played their game and showed some good effort on both offense and defense.

"We made a few mistakes out on the field, but overall we did play a solid game today." he added.

The team resumes play after the Easter break with a home game against Wasatch on Tuesday, April 6 at 3:30 p.m. on the Dino softball field.
