As the dust settles from the successful run of the CEU basketball team, eyes now turn to the baseball squad.

Currently, the Eagles are in fourth place in Scenic Western Athletic Conference (SWAC) action with a 5-7 conference record. The team is 11-14 overall, and has been playing since early February.

On March 13-14, CEU hosted Colorado Northwestern for in a four game conference stand and swept the series. Friday's scores were 4-0 and 12-6.

On Saturday, it was 4-1 and 3-2, with CEU on top. It took extra innings to secure the final win for the Eagles, though.

However, when the Eagles traveled to play Salt Lake Community College, continuing conference play, the team was not able to overcome the offensive power of the Bruins and lost all four games.

Scores for Friday, March 19 were 11-1 and 8-0 in favor of SLCC.

Saturday's games were a little closer, but the Bruins still won both, 9-7 and 9-4.

This weekend the College of Southern Nevada will be in town for four games. The Friday games begin with the first pitch at 1 p.m. with the second game immediately after.

Saturday the fun starts at noon for the wrap-up double header.
