Pondtown Creek Abandoned Mine Reclamation Project 
USDA Forest Service
Manti-La Sal National Forest
Ferron-Price Ranger District

	The Manti-La Sal National Forest is proposing to reclaim the Pondtown
Creek abandoned coal mine through removal of coal waste and concrete,
recontouring, and revegetation to approximate pre-mining conditions. 
The project area is located in Carbon County, Utah, T. 12 S. R. 6 E.,
Section 2, SLBM.  Total disturbed area for the project is estimated to
be less than 2 acres.  

	The public is invited to comment on our proposal. Only those who
submit timely comments will be accepted as appellants.  Each
individual or representative from each organization, submitting
comments must either sign the comments or otherwise verify identity in
order to attain appeal eligibility. Comments received, including names
and addresses of those who comment, will be considered part of the
public record for this project and will be available for public
inspection. Comments should include the information required pursuant
to 36 CFR 215.6(a)(3), as published in the Federal Register on June 4,

regular business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday-Friday,
excluding federal holidays. The opportunity to comment ends 30 days
following the date of publication of this legal notice in the Sun
Advocate  Emery County Progress .  If you have any questions or would
