LOMPOC, CALIF. - Roxie crossed over to join her husband Alex on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at the age of 87.
Roxie was born June 4, 1922 in Zap, N.D. to Decatur and Frances Ford. She married Alex Korenko in 1943 in Butte, Mont., then moved from Roundup, Mont. to Spring Canyon in 1957. In 1998 they moved to Lompoc, Calif. to be with their daughters Alexis and Fran.
Roxie was a member of the Church of God of Prophesy in Helper and the Zion Assembly Church of God in Lompoc.
Roxie is survived by Fran (Larry) Gonzales, Colo.; Alexis (Vincente) Garcia, Lompoc; and Lew (Jan) Korenko, Price. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Chris (Jill) Korenko, Michele (John) Kelley, Jared (Lisa) Korenko, Jodi Gonzalez, Jason Gonzales, Joshua (Vanessa) Gonzalez and Caroline (Mike) Branson. Sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter also survive her. A sister, Muriel Zaren, Butte, Mont., also survives along with extended family members. Roxie was preceded in death by her husband Alex. Their ashes will be lcared for by Alexis.
