He was born January 20, 1932 in Duchesne to Franklin A. and Florence Moulton Young. He married Paulette Wotruba Sept. 20, 1958 in Elko, Nev. The married was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple Feb. 17, 1960.
Gareth served in the navy from 1951-55. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in a variety of positions. He was a Utah Park ranger for four years.
He is survived by his wife; children: Chad Von (Kathy)Young, Ohio; Ryan Franklin (Amy) Young, Oregon; Tempie Celeste Young Berry, Utah; 8 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Marden (Gwen) Young, Salt Lake City; Arlo (Betty) Young, Monroe; LaRee (David) Ross and Eda Young, of Salt Lake City.
