Library big on authors
March will be author month at the Price City Library, and the staff is looking forward what will be going on.
"We are very excited about all the festivities," said library director Norma Procarione. "This should be a lot of fun."
On Wednesday, March 3, Procarione said the library will be celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. The celebration starts at 3:30 with light refreshments. "Make sure you plan on staying for story time which starts at 5 p.m.," she pointed out.
On Wednesday, March 10 at 6 p.m. the library will host a panel of local authors who will be available to discuss the various stages of the writing process. That group includes:
*Nancy Labahn, who has completed a manuscript and is having her granddaughter do the illustrations before looking for a publisher.
*Jennifer Clark will also be present and she is having a book published by Covenant Book next year.
*Nora Aragon, who has written an inspiration book. Her book was self-published.
*Victoria Johnson, who has been published on disk.
*Marjorie Jones, who has written and published one book and is currently working on a new book.
*Cheryl Nisonger, who is in the very early stages of the writing process.
The panel will be taking questions and sharing their challenges.
On Wednesday, March 17 at 6 p.m. SueAnn Martell, who has written two books on the history of the railroad and mining in Carbon County, will be at the library. She will be discussing her books and will present a slideshow.
On Wednesday, March 24 at 6 p.m. special guest, author Phillip Jones will be stopping by to discuss his books. He lives in Salt Lake City and has written a series of books called "The World of the Crystal Moon."
