PRICE - Kenneth LeRoy Miller, age 85, passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010 in Price. He was born Aug. 31, 1924 in Arkansas, one of six children born to Claude and Donna Blaire Miller.
Ken married Rene Gaskin on Dec. 17, 1948 in Station, Texas; she passed away Sept. 29, 1979. He later married Shirley Adair on March 9, 1980.
Ken served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart awards for his service to his country. He worked as a coal miner for many years. Ken enjoyed the outdoors and liked to hunt for and collect arrow heads. He also enjoyed farming, gardening and barbequing. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Ken is survived by Shirley; children, Marlena (Keith) Jones, Cape Gerardeau, Mo., Gloria (Kenny) Weston, Grand Junction, Colo., Nancy (Tom) Wood, Price, Jim (Debbie) Powell, Price, Larry (Rosie) Powell, Orangeville, and Linda (Warren) Black, Eugene, Ore.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Willard (Meryl) Miller, Verlene Marquand, Peggy Dickson, Bud Miller, and Bill Miller.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rene; son, John Miller; granddaughter, Carrie Ann Miller.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Price (200 N. 300 E.) with Pastor Bob Wells officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Cliffview Cemetery in Price. Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
