HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF. - Charles W. Holdaway, Jr. passed away in Huntington Beach, Calif. on Feb. 6, 2010. Charles was born in Price on Oct. 11, 1936 to Charles William (Bill) Holdaway and Wilhelmina Steckelman (Stecky) Holdaway. He graduated from Carbon High School, class of 1954, and Carbon College, class of 1956. Charles then attended Utah State University, graduating in 1958 with a degree in accounting. He spent his entire adult life in California where he met and married Barbara Satz. They raised two children, Julie and Richard. Charles was active in sports as a volunteer in youth athletics and as a competitor in marathon running. After receiving a kidney transplant, he became a participant in the Transplant Games, winning medals in both national and international competitions.

Charles was preceeded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children Julie Holdaway and Richard (Kimber) Holdaway; grandchildren Jonas, Tatum, Tyler and Tegan plus his siblings Karl (Jan) Holdaway and Anne Marie (Larry) Marinoni.

Internment will be in Harbor Lawn Mt. Olive Memorial Park, Costa Mesa, Calif. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the National Kidney Foundation.
