It began as a service station on the corner of First East and Main in Price. It was the building with the landmark neon lit moving dinosaur of the rooftop. Walt Axelgard started Dinosaur Super Service in 1947, after returning home from World War II. Shortly thereafter, Walt expanded the business to add a tire and retread shop.

In 1965, Dinosaur Tire moved to its current location at 200 E. Main. From the very beginning, Walt's business philosophy was founded on offering quality products and, as the name implied, "super service!"

Today, Dinosaur Tire Service has evolved as one of the backbones of the Price business community. It is also one of Eastern Utah's oldest and most respected tire and automotive service outlets. The business is still family owned and operated. Kevin Axelgard heads the company with a group of experienced and caring employees, who all value the loyalty and trust of their customers.

Dinosaur Tire has a reputation for quality products, excellent employees and unmatched service for over 62 years. In 2004, Dinosaur Tire became a member dealer of one of the oldest and most respected tire companies in the West, the Les Schwab Tire Company. This partnership allows Dinosaur Tire to deliver to their customers a wider range of competitive products and services from the smallest to the largest including, farm, truck, OTR and mining. It also allows these tremendous products and services to be guaranteed by warranties at over 400 locations. Bringing together two great companies, with experience, respect and vision that are unparalleled, allows Dinosaur Tire to support and enhance their founding mission of delivering "super service" to their customers.

Dinosaur Tire continues to grow due to great and loyal customers, many of whom are second, third and fourth generation patrons.
