ST. GEORGE - Ted Chidester, age 74 passed away in St. George on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010. He was born Aug. 2, 1935 in Lehi to William P. Chidester and Margret Arnold. He married LaRay Johnson on Oct. 11, 1953 in Ely, Nev.
Ted worked as a sales rep. in the mining industry, and also drove truck. He enjoyed four wheeling on the desert, rock hunting, herding, family reunions, and especially spending time with his family.
Ted is survived by his wife LaRay Chidester, St. George; children, Betty Jo (John) Pennington, St. George, Ted (Chris) Chidester, Spring Creek, Nev., Teri (Jeff) Grange, Huntington, Tammie (Kyle) Christiansen, East Carbon, and Debbie Staley, Lyman, Wyo. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one sister and two brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two step-sisters and one grandson.
A viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 22, from 6-8 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home. 620 N. Main St. in Huntington. Services will be held at the Heritage Funeral Home, Saturday, Jan. 23, 11 a.m. with a viewing an hour prior to services.
Interment will follow in the Huntington City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to the care of the Heritage Funeral Home.
